Two weeks after the close of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, the Club hosted local film-makers who recently returned from the festival in a Sundance 2007 Retrospective (02/13/07). They shared the experience of having a film featured at Sundance, including strategies employed by filmmakers at the fest to attract the attention of buyers and investors.
Participating filmmakers, included Jonathan Gray, indy film attorney and producer (veteran of 15 fests and producer of Flannel Pajamas shown in competition at the 2006 fest), gave their thoughts as to the health of independent filmmaking. More importantly, they shared their anecdotes regarding the Sundance experience and the various industry players.
The goal of this event was to allow attendees to vicariously attend Sundance without taking the days off or absorbing the expense of actually traveling to Park City.
