An Invisible Thread, the Power of Small Acts of Kindness with Laura Schroff

An Invisible Thread, the Power of Small Acts of Kindness with Laura Schroff

Laura Schroff, former advertising executive and author of New York Times best seller An Invisible Thread, explores the role of destiny in our lives and the invisible threads that connect us all. An Invisible Thread brings to life the inspiring true story of an 11-year old boy, Maurice, and a busy sales executive when they met on 56th street in 1986.

Laura Schroff relates how her unexpected encounter and lunch at a McDonald’s with Maurice turned into a weekly Monday night ritual where she learned heart-wrenching details about his horrific childhood. Maurice’s struggles reminded Schroff of her difficult childhood and how these experiences shaped the person she became today. She will share their story of friendship based on an unbreakable bond and how they changed each other’s lives since their first meeting 30 years ago.

An Invisible Thread has received many prestigious awards including a Christopher Award, Dream Catcher Award, Local Hometown Hero Award and Books for a Better Life Award. Over her career, Schroff has worked with Time, Inc. and Condé Nast as part of the team that launched USA Today into a successful national newspaper.
