An Ivy Invitation – “The GPA Game” at The Penn Club

An Ivy Invitation – “The GPA Game” at The Penn Club

Gaining admission to college has become both a much more complicated and competitive process in the last decade. At the same time, colleges have embarked on marketing efforts to encourage as many students as they can to know about their college and to apply. This leaves high school students and their parents confused about whom the colleges are likely to admit and what they are really looking for in their applicants; which factors are the most important.

“The GPA Game” is a fun and interactive exercise that illustrates which aspects of the student’s application will help them in admissions and which will jeopardize their chance of being accepted to the college of their choice.  Should my child apply for a summer program? How important is the essay? Is it better to take AP classes or have a higher GPA?

Janet Rosier, an experienced and knowledgeable Independent Educational Consultant will lead the participants through the steps of the game, explain the importance of each segment and host a Question and Answer session. Her firm, Janet Rosier’s Educational Resources, recently celebrated its 11th anniversary of guiding students to colleges that are a good fit, academically as well as socially and emotionally by providing an individualized plan for each student. Janet has guided hundreds of students from across the greater New York City region and beyond, as well as international students through the maze that college admissions. She works with students from public, private, parochial and boarding schools find appropriate college choices. Please join her for this fun and informative program tailored for parents of high schools students and those students.
