Joan Kuhl launched Why Millennials Matter in 2012, a Gen-Y speaking and consulting company based in New York City after a decade of mentoring young professionals. Joan Kuhl is a renowned millennial career expert sought after for her expertise in leadership, marketing strategy and management. She has successfully created training sessions and workshops that develop future leaders and is an executive coach who helps high potential young talent on the path to executive positions and greater success. She also advises companies on how to attract and retain millennials as employees and earn the loyalty across the millennials consumer segment.

Currently, Joan Kuhl is in a partnership with Barnes & Noble College, who has over 725 college campus bookstores, where she acts as their Millennial Career Expert by connecting with students on topics such as interviewing, personal branding, networking and skills for succeeding on the job. Joan also serves as the youngest Board Member for the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute. Along with Frances Hesselbein, Joan had an active role in the recently released bester-seller, Peter Drucker’s Five Most Important Questions: Enduring Wisdom for Today’s Leaders, as well as the launch of the HesselbeinGlobalAcademy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement.

Since 2005, Joan Kuhl has spoken to thousands of high school and college students as a part of Monster.com’s Program on Career and College preparation for success. In June 2013, Joan Kuhl released a book on her expertise, The First Globals: Understanding, Managing, and Unleashing Our Millennial Generation.

Joan Kuhl’s advice has been featured in leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and the Leader to Leader JournalCosmopolitan magazine selected Joan to be a part of their inaugural Millennial Board of Advisors featuring her in the magazine’s masthead as well as presenting her insights on Millennials at the Bi-Annual Cosmopolitan Magazine International Editors Conference (COSMIC).
