Gracie Mansion Tour

Gracie Mansion Tour

Archibald Gracie, a shipping magnate and businessman, built the main section of the Gracie Mansion house in 1799. Since that time the house has been used as a mansion, a building for the Department of Parks service structure, and the original location of the Museum of the City of New York. In 1942, Gracie Mansion became the first official residence of the Mayor of New York City, Robert F. Wagner. In 1981, Ed Koch established the Gracie Mansion Conservancy to improve and maintain the beautiful property as a historic landmark. The building has been beautifully restored and decorated with neo-federalist furnishings. In 2017, Gracie Mansion will celebrate its 75th anniversary as the Mayor of New York City’s official residence.

After the tour, the group is invited to an à la carte lunch at Rosina Restaurant. The restaurant is located at 1685 York Avenue. Please meet the group promptly 11:00am for security screening at Gracie Mansion located at 181 East End Avenue at 88th Street.
