Whether for education and lifelong learning, social impact or giving back, luxury or conservation, there are issues to be examined on how we spend our dollars. Learn more on the various opportunities available and what the future holds. Food and Beverage, an important part of all travel will be discussed with a wine tasting reception.

Bonnie Wyper- Founder and President, Thinking Animals United
Bonnie is an entrepreneur and has had a number of careers. Among them, she has designed in the Paris couture, directed the Rhode Island State Arts Council, managed art galleries in New York and Newport, RI, and developed the Office of Cultural Affairs for Newport, RI. Currently, she is Executive Director of Thinking Animals United, Inc. which she also founded (www.thinkinganimalsunited.org) and produces the series, Exploring Animal Minds. Thinking Animals currently is preparing for the ReThinking Animals Summit in May, 2017 also in Manhattan.

Caroline Hunt, VP Sales & Marketing, ROAR AFRICA
Born in Zimbabwe, Caroline spent a few years in Italy before moving to London. At ROAR AFRICA, a boutique luxury safari outfitter, she is able to combine her extensive background in hospitality with her passion for travel and her love for Africa. ROAR AFRICA creates life-changing journeys to Africa for travelers who appreciate the transformative power of travel. Caroline has traveled to six out of the seven continents, over 80 countries and has an impressive network of connections from hotel General Managers to restaurants worldwide. More recently, the plight of some of Africa’s finest wildlife icons – elephants, rhinos and lions, has driven ROAR AFRICA to focus on conservation efforts more than ever. Going on safari and staying at carefully chosen camps and lodges who share this ethos, has a direct impact on local economies and enables the ongoing education and employment of rural communities, helps create awareness and decreases human/animal conflict.
Stephen Ham – Executive Director, Philanthropy & Partnerships, Wildlife Conservation Society
Stephen has spent his life dedicated to the field of global conservation and most recently joined the Wildlife Conservation Society in 2016. Whether trekkingmountain gorillas in Rwanda or whale watching in Antarctica, Stephen is a passionate advocate for wildlife and the wild places they inhabit, particularly for Africa. He received a degree in anthropology and environmental studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a returned volunteer with the United States Peace Corps where he served in Ghana, West Africa. Before WCS, his most recent role was Senior Director with the African Wildlife Foundation and he also spent years as a special assistant to Dr. Jane Goodall. When not looking for leopards, Stephen lives in NY with his wife, daughter, and pup Daisy.
Michal Alter- Co-Founder and CEO of VISIT.ORG
Michal Alter has been working in technology and social development for over 15 years. In 2014 she founded VISIT.ORG, a booking platform for impactful, immersive travel experiences offered by community-based tourism projects and nonprofits around the globe, combining her love for technology with her dedication to social development. As one of the first female pilot cadets in the Israeli Air Force and a Computer Science Engineer, Michal worked as Systems Architect at Nuance Communications (Nasdaq: NUAN), and at Risk Modules, both part of the thriving Israeli high tech industry. Michal holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Tel Aviv University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). She speaks English, Spanish, and Hebrew.
