Screening and Talkback: Lucky Balls – The True Story of Charging Bull
The larger than life bronze sculpture “Charging Bull” has stood at Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan for 25 years and has been visited by millions from around the world.
Join us for an exclusive viewing of the documentary film, LUCKY BALLS – The True Story of Charging Bull.
This documentary tells the fabulous story of one of the most popular attractions and icons in New York history. Already an established sculptor in Italy, Arturo Di Modica left Sicily and arrived in New York in 1973. In December 1989, he delivered the 3.5 ton sculpture that he built on Crosby Street and cast in Brooklyn as an anonymous and surprise Christmas gift to the city. With the help of a few friends he dropped it off in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
The film has been submitted for consideration in the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.Dr. Joseph Scelsa, (Columbia M.A.,Ed.D) Founder and President of the ItalianAmericanMuseum in New York will introduce former NYU photography student, Beata Moryl, who co-produced the film with RP Media.
